Russia has carried out a wave of attacks on Ukraine overnight which President Volodymyr Zelensky said had killed at least four people. Zelensky added that about 430 drones and 18 missiles were used in attacks on “civilian infrastructure”.
The video, likened to a scene from "Mad Max," was geolocated by NBC News to Pokrovsk, where fierce battles have been taking place as Russia pushes to capture the city.
U krainian President Volodymyr Zelensky shared a video that he said showed his country’s new “Long Neptune” cruise missile, which has a range of up to 1,000-kilometer (621 miles), in action against Russia. It was unveiled in March 2025 after successful testing and Zelensky said it is being used in combat.
The country has been plagued by corruption since gaining independence, and Zelensky was elected on a mandate to eliminate this kind of activity. Military procurement scandals have already resulted in the removal of defence minister Oleksii Reznikov in 2023, though he was not personally implicated.
Video from Sterlitamak in the Bashkortostan region, which is around 1,000km (620 miles) away from the border with Ukraine, captured an explosion at a petrochemical plant. Regional governor Radiy Khabirov later said Sterlitamak was attacked by two drones and “debris fell in an industrial zone”.
