High school football players in Aiken, Barnwell and Edgefield counties turned in key performances to lead their teams in the first round of the state playoffs.

FAYETTEVILLE, AR — Jeff Lebby earned his first SEC win as the second-year Mississippi State football coach and was surprised with a game ball afterward. The Bulldogs (5-4, 1-4 SEC) overcame a 14-point deficit in the fourth quarter to beat Arkansas 38-35 at Donald W. Razorback Stadium on Nov. 1.
