Lucas Raymond scored the tiebreaking goal late in the third period and the Red Wings beat the Rangers 2-1 on Sunday night.

But when the Red Wings went back on the man advantage a little later in the second period, they capitalized. Alex DeBrincat poked in a loose puck off the rebound of Raymond’s shot to grab a 1-0 lead at 9:30, with a secondary assist also going to Patrick Kane.

The New York Rangers said coach Mike Sullivan is missing their game Sunday night against Detroit because of personal reasons. In Sullivan’s absence, assistants David Quinn and Joe Sacco were set to run the bench against the Red Wings.
