Here is what's next for the Patriots: On Thursday, the Patriots defeated the New York Jets, 27-14. Expect easy wins like that for the rest of New England's regular season. The Buffalo Bills are the only team over .500 on New England's remaining regular-season schedule, and the Patriots beat the Bills, 23-20, in Week 5.
Former Patriots quarterback Cam Newton needs to see more out of the Patriots to make him a believer, though. In fact, Newton went so far as to call the team's success this season "fool's gold" due to the schedule that they've played, which is among the league's easiest.
For the first time with a quarterback not named Tom Brady, the Patriots (9-2) have won eight straight games. And they seem to have another star quarterback -- and an emerging sidekick -- on their hands. With Mike Vrabel taking over as coach and Drake Maye entering his second season, coupled with a lot of money being spent in free agency to bolster the roster, I thought the Patriots would be a feisty team that could win eight or nine games this season.
