54 Chrysler Power Steering hose - Discussion Forums
I need the pressure hose for the power steering, tank on the back of the generator. Does anyone know what the fittings are? Went to the hydraulic shop and hard to match up. Male fitting on tank seems like metric and they tried everything, seems odd it would be. May try to use the old fittings, wh...

My 1948 DeSoto 3 window coupe restoration project.
My ignition key stopped turning unless I jiggled it for several minutes. I watched a good video on how to replace an ignition lock cylinder on YT. Luckily, I had an NOS ignition and door key lock kit for my 48 DeSoto. I followed the directions in the video, and successfully changed the ignition lock cylinder in my ignition switch. First, I removed the access plate below the lock cylinder and ...

Trying to source a brass petcock - Discussion Forums
Newer ones are usually available in a variety or combination of in and out thread types from NPT to flair or ferrule fittings. Most original era petcock valves I have seen on vacuum tanks over the years have been the simple twist type and straight through. Some cars did have angled valves, and some did have seated "leak proof" valves.

The faint smell of gasoline that follows old cars. Is it dangerous?
I just parked my new '46 Plymouth in my two car garage. Like many old cars it has the faint aroma of gasoline around it. I suppose that it has a vented gas cap, and gas can vaporize through the carb vent. Maybe some of the smell is from the road draft tube smell of oil? It doesn't smell like I sp...

What has happened to electricvehiclemuseum.org?
I seem to be missing the drawings for the controller contact ferrules (the pieces between the controller drum and the copper plates). I might be able to derive them from the contact drawings but I seem to remember that there were ferrule drawings. This is for a 1914 Model 63 DE. For example drawing 36727 shows the copper contact for the F contact. But there is also a ferrule piece between the ...

1931 Buick Sedan Series 60 throttle hookup and locating parts.
Does anyone have any pictures how the throttle lever gets hooked up to the carb from the accelerator pedal? If anyone knows a location where I could get a replacement throttle rod that would be good also. Just trying to get the car running for a guy.

V12 oil dipstick - Antique Automobile Club of America
I'm trying to get the cross over pipe off the v12 to pull the oil pan. My oil level indicator has sunk. Anyway, I sure would like a dipstick somewhere. I read that one reason these engine got a bad rap was because the state or condition of the oil could not be determined with only the oil level i...
